Personal History		Born the only son of Stephan and Paula Blackford. Both his parents were teachers in the Augusta School System. From an early age, Jordan showed an appitute for taking things apart and putting them back together. As he grew older, he turned his attention to engineering, reading book after book on the subject. At 14, he scratchbuilt an airplane, he even built the engine. It took off alright, but one of the wheel struts fell off and he was forced to land the plane in a wheat field. The plane was destroyed, but he walked away without a scratch. His education was about the only thing that was normal in his life. His grades were good and he showed his gift for anything mechnical. When he turned 17, he applied to Starfleet Academy, hoping to get an early admission. He past the test, but there was no room in the early admittance program, so he had to wait one year. He entered the Academy when he turned 18, majoring in engineering studies.
Education Record		In the Academy, his studies included Starship Engineering; Warp Engineering, and Basic Warp Design. For his minor studies, he selected navigation, studyling Basic Navigation. He went through the survival training, going though the desert and artic survival courses. As part of his training, he worked in the engine room of the Academy's training starship, getting real on-hands training.
Service Record		2161 - Entered the Academy at 18. 2161/2164 - Academy. 2164 - Graduated from the Academy. 2164 - Assigned to the USS Venture, rank ensign, engineering officer. 2165 - Received commendation for excellence in his duties. 2168 - Transferred to the USS Horizon, as junior engineering officer.
