Mission 0 - Pre-Sigma Iotia II
Location: Bridge

Noah Cole was standing at the auxilary science console, reveiwing sensor data from their current position. He kept looking around the bridge. He was happy to be here, but now that they were lost, he was slightly frightened.
He looked at the other officers, trying to guage their feelings. Then he looked at the helmsman........and he fell in love.
He tried to find an excuse to talk to her.
In that moment, Alex didn't seem interested in love or anything else. Her focus was entirely on her controls. Her expression was pinched and tight and her body language rather tense.
Noah turned back to his console. But he kept an eye on the woman. She was amazing. So dedicated to her job. But her body language seemed wrong...she was so wound up....he bet that she sufferd from back pains.
The more he looked at her, the more he realized that he'd probably had no chance with a woman like that..probably half the men chased her.
So he returned to his duties.
Now he was depressed.
Alex looked up just as he was turning back. She offered a small smile and reached up to move a stray strand of hair from in front of her eyes. She shifted a little in her seat. It was almost time for shift change.
Noah checked the aux science console for any unusual stellar phenomenon, and when the sensors detected something, he'd log it in. Most people would consider it grunt work, but he was happy to be here, on the ship and in space. He'd do the work that was expected of him, and wait for an opportunity to show the captain what he could do.
Alex smiled at him again as she walked past on her way off duty.
As the woman started to walk away, his relief showed up and he went after the helmsman, and when he caught up with her, "Interest you in coffee or something?"
"Sure," she said, turning to look up at him with a warm smile. "I was just heading to the mess."
He was happy she agreed to have coffee with him. "Then the mess it is."
He followed her into the turbolift.
