Mission: Mission 0 - Pre-Sigma Iotia II
Location: Bridge and Sickbay
Timeline: 2167/07/02 1155

Fiona had gone to check out the medical facilities before heading off to meet the Captain. She'd never been on a Daedalus class before, so seeing her work environment was more important to her than meeting the Captain. However, once she was done exploring, she had to go meet him before she found herself in trouble for not reporting in.

She stepped out of the lift and looked around the bridge. It was alright, for a bridge. She didn't honestly care what it looked like, so long as medbay was sound and up to date, she was happy. Fiona spotted a man sitting in the Captain's chair and hoped it was Captain Alexander. She moved around to stand in front of him and gave him a smile. "Captain Alexander?"

"Doctor!" Gary said reach out his hands to clasp hers. "It is so good to finally meet you!" He gave the woman the once over while talking. "Indeed, I am Captain Gary Alexander. However, when not around others, feel free to call me Gary. On the bridge, I'm Captain or Captain Alexander." He gave her a reassuring and warm smile.

"Are you just checking in?" Gary asked curiously.

Fiona smiled at the Captain's boisterousness. "I am, Captain," she said with a nod. "I admit I stopped into the med bay to check things out first, but I wanted to come meet you and report in."

"I appreciate that, Doctor. Would you like to go somewhere more comfortable, so we can continue to chat?" He paused before continuing. "Incidentally, should I call you Commander or Doctor on duty? And would you mind Fiona, off?" He gave Fiona a puppy dog look encouraging her to allow him to use her first name off duty.

Fiona laughed. "I prefer Doctor on duty, and yes, you may call me Fiona off duty, or even on duty if you pair it with my title," she looked around the bridge and gave a shrug. "Where would you like to go, Captain?"

My quarters? He gave Fiona a winning smile of approval. "Why don't you choose? I would like you to be most comfortable."

"I do not mind where," Fiona gave him a sweet smile full of genuine innocence. "Though, I would like a cup of coffee and maybe some lunch?"

"Coffee and lunch, it is," he said satisfied. "Let me escort you to the officer's mess hall." He crooked out his elbow some so that if Fiona wished to put her arm within it, she was able to do so. "I have not yet had the chef's cooking and I do not necessarily trust the food synthesizers, so this could be taking our lives into our own hands," he said with a chuckle.

"Well," she laughed. "I guess it's a good thing I have medical training." Fiona slipped her hand into the crook of his elbow and allowed him to direct her toward the mess. "And in case it's ever needed, I just renewed my CPR certification. Though I doubt the mess will bring us to that."

"Oh, you never know," Gary told her, more than a little pleased that she slipped her arm inside his. He closed the gap, keeping her close. "I do have some allergies. Perhaps you could demonstrate your technique on me. I have always been a hands on person." He started leading her slowly down the corridor towards the mess.

"I didn't read any allergies in your file, Gary," she said, giving him a knowing smile. "You can't lie to your doctor, we have full access to your medical file. Also, your re-certification for CPR is due as well. I can certify you, whenever you have the time to come demonstrate your skills."

Gary now was actually a little concerned and his tone changed from playful to serious. "I am allergic to shellfish. I have always been so. I rather loved shrimp but my throat did not," he told Fiona. "Perhaps we should recheck your records after lunch." His demeanor changed back to playful and flirtatious. "And perhaps you can teach me your skills."

"Well then," she said, taken somewhat aback by the change of tone and information that wasn't in his file. "I shall have to chastise your former doctor for not sending the complete file," she frowned, now wondering if the rest of the crew's files had been tampered with. "I will look into it upon my return to my office," she smiled now. "Maybe I can teach you a few things, but I don't know if you really need to be taught or if you just want to practice."

"Is there a difference?" Gary asked, humored. "After all, if I were to make an error, would you not need to correct my technique? Would that not be teaching? Regardless, I do hope that you could teach me a few things. I think you would find that I am an eager student."

The mess was starting to loom closer. If only he could find a way to lure this nubile vixen to his quarters prior to lunch....

Fiona laughed and shook her head. "Well," she said after a moment, "I suppose you'd be right." She noted that they slowed a tiny bit. "Captain," she said, forgetting already that he'd said to call him Gary when off the bridge. "Are you hesitating going to the mess?"

"Not at all!" Gary responded innocently. "I was just very interested in our discussion and was wondering if you wanted to check on these matters immediately or after lunch."

Fiona raised an eyebrow. This Captain seemed at odds with himself, but she couldn't figure out why. "Well," she thought for a moment, she did really want to get lunch, but he seemed quite adamant about checking his file and discussing CPR. She still didn't understand what the appeal was. "I am hungry, but if you are really worried about your medical file being updated we could do that first," she said finally.

Gary looked at Fiona curiously. Either he was getting bad at picking up women or Fiona was completely oblivious. "Why don't we get a little snack, so that you're not starving and then we can come back after a check up?"

Fiona tilted her head to the side, feeling quite confused. Now he wanted a checkup? She looked at the mess doors, then back to Gary. "No, we can go now, grab food later," she said wondering why he was going back and forth so much. Some of her confusion showed on her face, but she gave him a smile. "I can wait."

Now assured that he had a victory, Gary gave Fiona a warm smile. "You are such a sweet woman. I am so very glad that you decided to apply to Horizon. I appreciate you taking the time just to care for me."

"Well," she allowed him to steer her back toward the turbolift. "You are the Captain," she smiled warmly. "You are deserving of extra care and attention."

Oh, God! I cannot wait to take this honey! "You are ever so gracious, Fiona. Perhaps I could return the favor for you? I would hate to think that someone that took such good care of me did not receive reciprocal treatment."

"What do you suggest, Captain?" she asked, leaning slightly into him as she avoided colliding with an Ensign walking toward them. She noticed a few others ahead and stayed closer to Gary.

Damn it, I have dinner with Ci tonight. I will have to push this honey to tomorrow. Oh, God! Can you feel the heat? She's pressing more against me. How the heck can I wait until tomorrow?! "Perhaps I could cook for you tomorrow. Dinner. Say, 1800?"

"Alright," she smiled and nodded. "I don't have any plans aside from my duties for the rest of the week," she was forced even closer to Gary as they passed a large group of people coming off the lift. "Dinner with you sounds like an excellent way to spend an evening."

"I completely agree, except, of course, spending it with you." I bet she's a minx in the sack. She just wants it now. "I want to get to know you so much better." God, that was so obvious, Gary. Way too much. No need to clobber her. She's already reeled in.

Fiona blushed ever so slightly as they stepped into the lift. She wasn't sure what to say to that, but she wanted to say something. "I would like to get to know you better as well," she pulled ever so slightly away from Gary now that she had some space, but someone getting on the lift forced her back up against him. Once it stopped on the appropriate floor, she walked at Gary's pace down to the sickbay. It was oddly devoid of staff when they walked through the doors, but then most of the medical staff hadn't arrived on board yet. "Now, where would you like to start? With your physical? Or going over your file to make the appropriate amendments?""

Look at that blush! Oh, she's just waiting to burst out! "Where do I want to start?" Gary asked, his mind focusing on anything but the physical or his medical records. "Why don't we start at the top, er, I mean wherever you believe is the most logical?"

"Why don't we go into my office and have a look at your file," she suggested. "I can complete your physical in there as well."

Happily, Gary cheerfully replied, "As you wish, Doctor," as he entered her personal office.

Fiona followed him into her office. Instead of walking around her desk, she leaned over it slightly to retrieve the clipboard with his medical file on it. She straightened up and turned to lean her bum on the edge of the desk as she scanned the document. "Right, so I'll add in the shellfish allergy," she said aloud, eyes never moving from the clipboard as she worked.

Gary moved around to the Doctor's side, making sure that he was as close to Fiona's ass as he could be without touching it. He leaned over her and said, "That's a fine catch."

Fiona gave Gary a smile and looked over at him suddenly finding her face way too close to his. She tried to move back, but found herself with limited movement without falling over. "T...thank you..." her voice was a mix of confusion, surprise, amd something she couldn't quite place. Her nostrils filled with his cologne, a pleasant scent that had her closing her eyes and breathing in deeply through her nose.

"You're very welcome. Now, I believe that there was something else that we needed to do. What was that?" he asked tapping his chin lightly with a finger, hoping that Fiona would act on his overt hints, tomorrow's dinner seeming so far away.

"Oh...uhm...your physical," Fiona snapped back to reality and focused on the room instead of his cologne. "Have you had any illness or injury that wasn't reported between your last doctor's visit and now?" She went to turn toward him and lost her balance, falling into him. "OH! Gary...I'm sorry...."

Gary caught her. Something in the back of his mind told him that taking Fiona here would not be right. He resisted the temptation to take her here and now, he treated her as a gentleman should and gently lifted her back onto her feet. "Think nothing of it, Fiona. There is nothing to be sorry for. Besides, there are worse things than a lovely woman falling into my arms." He paused before answering the medical question. "And no, there has been no illness or injury."

Fiona, now bright red from the fall, nodded and took a step back from Gary. "Alright, just a quick scan and we should be good," her voice hitched slightly as she mentally chastised herself for being so clumsy around the Captain. She accidentally brushed his hip with her hand when she reached for the medical tricorder she kept on her desk. She mouthed the word "sorry" again, intending to say it, but her throat constricted. She fumbled with the machine before pulling the small tubular scanner and running it over him, head to toe and back up again.

Concerned, Gary asked, "Fiona, are you feeling well? Should I feel your head for a fever?"

"I'm fine, Gary," she smiled at him, and gave a half laugh. "I'm just... not normally quite so clumsy," she looked at the results of her scan and nodded. "And you are the picture of health," she tried to change the subject. "Is there anything else you would like?"

"Your company at dinner tomorrow," he told her with a knowing grin. "Come as you will. It is not formal and as I said before, not an order. What could I make for you? Do you have a favorite meal? Any allergies that I should be aware of?" he asked with a light giggle.

Fiona giggled as well and shook her head. "Whatever you would like to make for me, Gary," she placed a hand on his arm. "I have no allergies and like trying new things." She removed her hand, thinking maybe she shouldn't touch the Captain in such a way. "I look forward to spending an evening with you."

Warmly, Gary smiled and patted her hand. "And I with you."
