Mission:
Mission 0 - Pre-Sigma Iotia II
Location: Chief Science Officer's office
Timeline: 2167/07/03 0930
Fiona paced her office, wondering what she should do next, who she should speak with next. She was going down the list and stopped when she came to the Chief Science Officer's name. She hadn't met her yet. And Fiona wanted to ensure she met at least all of the other department heads before they shipped out. It would take a while before she met all of the crew, but eventually she would do so. It was always a good idea to meet those who would be your patients before they needed your assistance.
So, she set off to find the CSO. Heading first to the other woman's office. When she arrived, she readjusted her uniform and rang the door chime, hoping she wasn't interrupting anything. And that her sudden arrival without notice wouldn't upset the woman.
Ciara was working on organizing who on her team would be where and when as she got the assignments of who would be in science. She was pacing around her office, sipping at some tea, when she heard the door chime go off. Raising an eyebrow, she kept her pacing going, “Come in,” stated the voice with a thick French accent.
Fiona stepped through the door and smiled warmly. "Hello Lieutenant," she said watching the woman pace with a cup of tea in her hands. "I am Doctor Fiona Murphy, chief medical officer," she held out her hand. "I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself before we shipped out."
Stopping and looking over, Ci set everything down on her desk and gave the woman a smile. “Ah, Doctor Murphy. A pleasure to meet you. I understand wanting to meet everyone before we leave.” She nodded to her work. “If only I were as lucky to have the time.”
"My staff hasn't started arriving yet, so I have a bit of free time," Fiona sighed. "I won't take up much of your time, I can see you're quite busy. But I would like to request you schedule an appointment with me at your earliest convenience. For both your schedule and going over your medical records, it seems there was a glitch in the system and some records didn't transfer properly," at this she frowned deeply. "I would like to ensure that I have the most accurate data so there are no errors in any future treatment."
“Oh, they haven’t even arrived, but I need to figure out where they will fit in ze best. I am not all zat busy.” Ciara offered the seat across the desk from her seat and sat down in her own. “Probably better to schedule it before we leave, right? Though we can do it whenever. But ze medical records not coming through clearly iz surprising.”
"Ah, yes," Fiona nodded. "Your department must give you headaches, with all the different specialties. I guess I'm lucky in that I just have to make sure everyone gets an equal rotation," she gave a slight shrug. "And yes, it is quite worrying that they're not coming through clearly. I have found a few small errors and one glaring error that could have lead to a lot of problems."
“And giving everyone equal chance for a bridge shift as well. Yes, it can cause a headache at times.” Ci raised an eyebrow hearing about the errors in the medical records. “Did errors come across on mine?”
"I'm not sure, that's why I want to go over it with you," she smiled. "And my office is always open should you need a break from the headaches."
“Let me know what works best for you, Doctor, and I will be there. I do not want my medical records to be incomplete or incorrect.”
"My schedule is wide open, save for the evenings," she smiled. "Any time you would like to stop in, please feel free to do so."
Ci smiled. “Of course, Doctor. Once I get these schedules figured out, I likely will be there to sort zat part of things out.”
Fiona nodded and smiled. "Then I shall let you get back to work," she indicated the things Ciara had laid on her desk. "I hope the rest of your day goes smoothly," she moved toward the door. "It was nice meeting you, Lieutenant. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I prefer to go by Doctor or Fiona, or both together, rather than my rank or surname."
“I understand. I do not like my rank, though I am used to being called by it. I will see you later, Doctor Fiona.”
