Mission: Mission 1 - Leaving Sigma Iotia II
Location: Captain's Quarters
Timeline: 2168/07/26 1900

Gary had made all of his preparations. He had informed KAT that he would signal her if she should not make her normal morning call. Of course, he suspected that KAT would prefer to make the normal morning call. After all, it kept up appearances.

Then again, Gary enjoyed KAT most of all. He genuinely felt affection for her. Of course, he did with most women. But KAT, somehow was different. He could not put a finger on it, nor did he want to at this moment. After all, Alex was coming and he needed to focus on her. The two of them had much in common and he was dying to make it much, much more after dinner.

Despite the longer than usual shift and the limited resources that confronted her, Alex made an effort to look her best for her captain. She changed into a white civilian dress which looked good against the darker undertones of her skin. It was a sleeveless affair and, while the slit that came halfway up the left thigh was honestly more modest than the uniform skirts, that wasn't the impression it made. It was less pedestrian. Less routine. Designed to draw the eye. As she normally wore her hair up to free her hands for duty, she wore it down for the captain this evening. Silky and black as night it spilled down to her shoulder. There was a soft, confident smile on her lips when she arrived outside his door and buzzed.

The moment that Gary opened the door, Alex was greeted by pleasant fragrances of food from within. Looking past the Captain, she could see a small table with two chairs set well. Two candles were lit and set a warm mood in the otherwise darker room.

Gary, himself was dressed in a plaid button down shirt that was not buttoned all the way up, allowing Alex to see hints of his strong chest. He wore dark trousers that seemed to be designed as much for comfort as fit. Giving Alex the very noticeable once over, he said, "You look divine, Alex. Please come in." He swept his hand over his quarters, encouraging her entry.

"Thank you, captain," she said pleasantly, softly. She breathed in the scent of the room as she stepped inside, dark eyes glancing about. "It smells delicious."

"We're off duty. You can call me Gary," he told her, slightly amused by her still following protocol. Somewhat like KAT, like that, perhaps? "And I am glad that you approve of my cooking smells.

He walked over to the chairs and pulled one out for Alex. "M'lady, your seat."

"Ok, Gary." She says his name slowly, like she's getting used to it. She walks where he directs and settles down in the chair. "Thank you, Gary." Dark eyes looked to him as she settled comfortably into the seat.

Gary gently pushed Alex's seat into the table so she could eat comfortably. He then grabbed a bottle of wine and started pouring the red liquid into each of their glasses. "I hope you like French cooking and wines...."

"Yes, s...Yes, Gary," she answered as she watched him pour the red wine."I've always found French dining to be...elegant."

"Elegant?" he asked, putting the wine to the side. "Hm..." he mused. "The interesting thing about French cuisine is that some of it is deceptively simple. Perhaps you will see what I mean, soon enough."

"Elegance and simplicity often go together," Alex commented.

He raised his glass and asked, "So, what shall we toast to, my dear, Alex?"

"Hope," she said as she lifted her glass.

"A wiser toast than I probably could have come up with," Gary admitted, raising his glass to Alex's and clinking it before drinking a small amount of the wine.

"Well, thank you, Gary," Alex said softly as she clinked her glass, bringing it to her lips and taking a small sip.

Gary took a longer sip, never letting his eyes leave Alex's. "So, what are you hoping for this evening?" He let the innuendo sit for a moment before adding, "I have a salad for an appetizer. Then, Chicken Meunière for a main course...."

"To get to know you better, Gary," she teased back, "and enjoy what you have to offer." She gave him a small grin as she lowered her eyes, offering a small, coy smile.

"Well, I would not want to disappoint you in any regard," he replied with a mischievous grin. Moving towards a side table, he brought out a salad plate and tongs, "Shall I serve you, or would you like to serve yourself, m'dear?"

"I'd love for you to serve me, sir," she said suggestively. "You're taking good care of me tonight."

"I exist to serve," Gary replied with a wink. He put some salad on a plate and then handed it to Alex. He then did the same for himself and sat down at the table. Grinning at Alex, he told her, "I always thought that we shared a great deal of interests."

"I think we do," she agreed. "Old motor cars for one. Now we'll have the balloons, perhaps. I'm sure there's...other interests we share." A knowing smile as she takes her first bite of salad. "Quite good."

Taking a bite of his own, he gave a knowing smile back. "The best is yet to come."

"Oh, I'm sure," she says as she takes a slow bite.

And thus, the internal debate began. To skip the meal and head to dessert or not to skip the meal. Alex had always been a desirable catch. She wanted comforting but now she seemed more like a tigress, just biding her time until she would pounce.

Gary took a long draught of wine, looking over his glass at Alex before replying, "One really should make sure that one takes their time and savors every bite."

"It's hard to believe you're a man to take things slow, Gary," she half-teases as she sips her own wine.

"Perhaps dinner can wait until after dessert," Gary announced. He got up from his chair and then raised Alex to her feet, kissing her passionately.

She rose as he lifted her to her feet, parting her lips even as he kissed her and pulled her body to his. She pressed tight against him, all passion and need, as her hands resting on his shoulders.

Smoothly, Gary slowly guided the two of them towards his bed, the urgency to be together too powerful to ignore. Along the way, the kisses grew more passionate, more desperate, trying to fill the void that was outside the two of them.
